What is The Division Of Developmental Disabilities (DDD)?
The Division of Developmental Disabilities aims to “empower individuals with developmental disabilities to lead self-directed, healthy and meaningful lives.” The DDD serves and supports over 40,000 individuals in Arizona diagnosed with developmental disabilities. Those disabilities include: Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, and cognitive/intellectual disability. If you believe the individual in your care has developmental disabilities and could be eligible for support and services, contact the DDD for more information.
What resources can the DDD provide?
The DDD has a number of different resources to help aid and support those with developmental disabilities. The DDD, through Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), provides health care coverage to members eligible for the Arizona Long Term Care System. The DDD also provides language assistance free of charge for those with limited English proficiency.
How to receive DDD services:
If you believe someone in your care has special needs or developmental disabilities and would like to explore developmental disability services from the DDD you must first apply. Visit the DDD site or call the DDD office nearest to you and ask to speak with someone about an intake interview. You must qualify for DDD before requesting services.
